Professor Emeritus Walter Goffart taught at the University of Toronto from 1960 until his retirement as professor emeritus in 1999. During those years, he published ten scholarly books and over sixty essays, varying in topics from studies on Late Rome, barbarian kingdoms, the early Middle Ages, and historical atlases.
