Greti Dinkova-Bruun, Librarian (cell phone: 437-333-2161)
The PIMS Library has received approval from the administration of St. Michael’s College to reopen on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. The opening hours of the PIMS Library are:
Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday, 10 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.
Since the safety of the staff and readers is our highest concern, a series of rules and safety protocols have been implemented in accordance to national, provincial, and U of T health guidelines. In general, readers with be allowed to study at the tables in the Reference Area, and the Paleography Room; the tables in the main stacks can also be used, if the other two areas are at capacity. All readers must wear face masks during their entire visit; they also need to sanitize their hands frequently (sanitizing liquid will be provided), especially before touching any of the lockers, the public computers, the photocopier, and the handles of the movable shelves for periodicals.
Rules to Enter the Kelly Building
There will be a security guard at the first floor of Kelly Library who will examine all incoming readers before allowing them to enter. This applies to PIMS readers as well. There are the following main categories of readers:
- Readers with U of T cards, i.e. UTORID holders: You will need a Green Screen from Ucheck to enter. Please, visit the website of the Kelly Library for more details.
- All external readers, i.e. alumni, readers who only have PIMS cards, and visitors from other institutions and provinces, need to contact the librarian Greti Dinkova-Bruun (greti.dinkova.bruun@utoronto.ca) at least a full day before their visit, so that their names can be added to the list of the security guard. No external reader can expect to be let in by the security guard, if their name is not on the list. Each case will be adjudicated individually by the librarian a day before the planned visit.
