Stephen Pelle and Robert Getz (CMS / DOE) have been awarded a SSHRC Insight Grant to complete and publish the second instalment of the L section of the Dictionary of Old English, covering words that begin with Li-Ly, bringing the Dictionary to its alphabetical midpoint. The Li-Ly fascicle will include entries for many important Old English words whose reflexes remain in common use today, such as the nouns lif (life) and lufu (love); the verbs libban (live), licgan (lie), and locian (look); and the adjective lytel (little).
Congratulations!
