We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Riccardo Macchioro as Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Medieval Latin Studies and Culture (CMS, with 50% allocated to the University of Saint Michael’s College, Undergraduate Program in Mediaeval Studies), effective July 2024.
Dr. Macchioro obtained his BA and MA in Classics from the Università Statale di Milano (2008, 2010), and his PhD in Digital Humanities for Medieval Studies from the Università degli Studi di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale (2015). He further refined his education as a Claudio Leonardi Fellow at the Karl Zeno Schlindler Foundation in Geneva (2016), at the at the Institut für Alte Sprachen - Lateinische Philologie des Mittelalters und der Neuzeit, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (2017), the Università degli Studi di Casino e del Lazio Meridionale (2018), the Fondazione Ezio Franceschini - SISMEL (2019) and Radboud University Nijmegen (2020-2023). More recently, Dr. Macchioro rejoined his alma mater, the Università degli Studi di Milano, as a Junior Researcher (CLTA) and Principal Investigator of a project on Universal Latin Chronicles in Medieval Italy (1183-1340): Evolutions and Networks between Traditional Models and (Pre-)Humanistic Experiments, funded among the most important Italian research projects (PRIN, or “Progetti di Ricerca di Interesse nazionale”).

With his expertise and extensive European research network, he will undoubtedly enrich our academic community.
